BLACKPINK Nominated For Shorty Award, Recognizing Outstanding Social Media Content
BLACKPINK has landed a nomination for the 11th Shorty Awards!
The annual ceremony was founded by Sawhorse Media, and it aims to celebrate top short form content from social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The awards are given out on the basis of a person or organization’s work over an entire calendar year, and winners are determined through the combination of online votes and scores from the Real Time Academy.
BLACKPINK has been selected by the members of the Real Time Academy as a nominee in the “Music — Arts & Entertainment” category.
Their fellow nominees in the category are Alanis Morissette, BAD BUNNY, Harry Styles, Jaden Smith, Janelle Monae, Kacey Musgraves, Mason Ramsey, Meek Mill, Normani, Post Malone, and Weezer.
BTS won a Shorty Award in the Music category in 2017.
Fans can cast votes for their favorites in select categories through the ceremony’s official website. Once the online vote is closed on February 21, the top six ranking nominees will move on as finalists, and the finalist with the highest ranking will be named as the winner in their category.
The 11th Shorty Awards ceremony will be held on May 5 in New York City, and it will be live-streamed online.
