SEVENTEEN Dishes On Each Other's Personalities, A Gift For Fans, And More
SEVENTEEN filled the airwaves with fun stories and impersonations.
On January 31, the boy group appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U’s “Ji Suk Jin‘s 2 O’Clock Date.” DJ Ji Suk Jin began by congratulating SEVENTEEN on topping Oricon’s weekly album chart and winning first place on MBC’s “Show Champion.”
SEVENTEEN then spoke about each other’s personalities. Jeonghan said to Dokyeom, “I want to say thank you for reacting to my jokes well.” Choosing Woozi as the member he wants to become closer with, Wonwoo explained, “We have similar hobbies. We got closer while playing games at the PC room on a day off.”
Vernon picked himself as the member who doesn’t clean well, and Hoshi shared his hopes to keep a hotteok (Korean pancakes with a sweet filling) promise for their first place win. “Our fans cheer for us outside in the cold weather, so I want to buy them warm food,” said Hoshi.
Naming SEVENTEEN’s leader S.Coups as the most immature older member, Dino said, “He’s reliable and cool, but our conversations sometimes make me feel like we’re of the same age.”
Moving on, Seungkwan talked about winning the Rookie Award at the 2018 MBC Entertainment Awards. “All of the members congratulated me a lot. Dokyeom sent me a long text message,” he said, to which Dokyeom explained, “We talked a lot about how it’d be nice if Seungkwan won the Rookie Award. I was so happy that it became reality. He’s younger than me, but he’s great and respectable, so I wrote a long message.”
When asked about his potential at winning the Grand Prize at the entertainment awards, Seungkwan answered, “Yes.” He then made everyone laugh by saying, “They say you should dream big.”
SEVENTEEN is famous for their in-sync choreography, so they talked about one of the eye-catching moves in “Home.” “There’s a dance where we jump and turn three times,” said the group. “Our fans named it the ‘triple axel.’ We practiced a lot, so we’re able to turn up to three times. We worked hard at practicing until the comeback.”
DJ Ji Suk Jin mentioned Seungkwan’s parody of Yoon Jong Shin‘s “Wi-Fi” on MBC’s “Radio Star” that went viral and led to the song’s rise on music charts.
After singing the parody once again, Seungkwan revealed, “[Yoon Jong Shin] contacted our manager to say thank you. I didn’t know that I was an influential person.” In a video message to Yoon Jong Shin, he joked, “I’m near your agency. Please call me any time. I’ll make reservations at a restaurant in advance.”
The boy group concluded their radio appearance by showcasing their unique talents. Dino did an impersonation of “SKY Castle” character Cha Min Hyuk (played by Kim Byung Chul), Vernon impersonated Byun Hee Bong from “The Host,” and Joshua mimicked the sounds of a vibrating cell phone. Dino was chosen as the winner as a result of the staff’s votes.
SEVENTEEN released their sixth mini album “You Made My Dawn” along with a music video for title track “Home” on January 21.
