"2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships" Achieves Highest Ratings In Time Slot
MBC’s “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – New Year Special” was a hit!
On February 7, Nielsen Korea reported that the second half of the two-day special event, which aired the night before, had taken first place in its time slot. The February 6 broadcast of the “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – New Year Special” scored average viewership ratings of 7.7 percent and a peak of 9.4 percent.
The Lunar New Year special also performed well with the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, scoring an average rating of 4.6 percent and achieving the highest viewership ratings in its time slot. The most-watched minute of the broadcast took place during the finals of the men’s 400-meter relay.
The ratings marked a slight improvement from the night before, when the first half of the “2019 Idol Star Athletics Championships – New Year Special” scored average viewership ratings of 6.4 percent and a peak of 7.2 percent. The most-watched minute of the night took place during the men’s bowling semifinals, when one of the competitors bowled six consecutive strikes and achieved a record-breaking score.
