Jin Se Yeon Talks About Transitioning From Historical Dramas Back To Modern-Day Dramas
On February 11, Joo Ji Hoon, Jin Se Yeon, Kim Kang Woo, Kim Yoo Ri, Park Won Sang, Oh Seung Hoon, and director Kim Sung Wook attended the press conference for MBC’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “The Item.”
“The Item” is a mystery fantasy drama about a prosecutor and a profiler who seek out the secrets behind mysterious objects with supernatural powers in order to protect the ones they love.
At the press conference, Jin Se Yeon said, “This is my first time doing a modern-day drama in four years, so I was really nervous. I went to set without wearing hanbok [traditional Korean clothing] and it felt so strange.”
She continued, “I also had to work to make the lines sound natural. I felt like the sageuk [historical drama] tone would come out without me knowing. I worked to make the line delivery, expressions, and body actions as natural as possible.”
Jin Se Yeon also talked about her character, the profiler Shin So Young. She said, “Profilers in dramas tend to be portrayed as cold and level-headed. So Young is like that when she works, but more than anything else she has lots of scars in her past, so she is able to relate to other people. She is a very human character.”
“The Item” premieres on February 11 at 10 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki. Check out the trailer below!
