KBS And Agency Of Jo Dal Hwan And Lee Mi Do Give Conflicting Statements On "My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2” Departure
The news of Jo Dal Hwan’s and Lee Mi Do’s departure from “My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2” has been surrounded by conflicting statements.
On February 14, Jo Dal Hwan and Lee Mi Do, who play married couple Ahn Dong Chool and Oh Jung Ja, were reported to be leaving the drama. A source from KBS stated, “Due to the storyline, Jo Dal Hwan and Lee Mi Do will be appearing until the middle of the drama. As it is in episodic format, even in the planning stages the drama was centered around the lead actors’ stories. In the future, it will follow the flow of the story and new characters may join or other characters may leave.”
Though the statement from KBS made the departure sound natural because of the flow of the story, it appears that it was news to the two actors. A source from their agency J-Wide Company stated, “We received the news of the departure suddenly. We didn’t know they would be leaving the show so soon. We’re flustered and don’t know how to react. From what we know, when we joined the drama, there was no specific discussion [about departing from the show so soon].”
“My Lawyer, Mr. Joe 2” is the second season of “Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho.” The drama follows successful prosecutor Jo Deul Ho whose life goes downhill after he exposes prosecutors’ corruption, which begins a new chapter in his life.
The drama airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. KST.
