Super Junior’s “Super Show” was named the Best Concert of the Year by the Premios Luces 2018!
The ceremony is held by Peru’s longest-running newspaper El Comercio, which was founded in 1839. This year’s Premios Luces was held on the evening of February 12 (local time) in Lima.
During the show, Super Junior won the Best Concert of the Year award for their concert “Super Junior World Tour Super Show 7,” which they performed on April 22, 2018 in Lima.
Fellow nominees in the category included Katy Perry; Susana Baca and Argelia Fragoso; Maluma and Marc Anthony; Radiohead; Daddy Yankee, Leslie Shaw, and more; Vivo x el Rock 10 (The Offspring, Deftones, Residente, and more); Barrio Latino (J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and more); Morrissey; and Roger Waters.
Super Junior began their “Super Show” concerts in February 2008, and they’ve since gone on to perform shows around the world, with over 2 million people in attendance overall.
The group, which debuted in 2005 and became one of the pioneers of the global Korean wave, has recently achieved great success in the Latin music market. Last year, they became the first K-pop artist to chart on Billboard’s Latin Digital Songs chart with their hit “Lo Siento.”
From March 2 to 3, the group will be performing a special encore of their “Super Show 7” concerts in Seoul at the KSPO DOME.
