Korean Celebrities Pay Tribute To Karl Lagerfeld
On February 19, iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld was revealed to have passed away.
Karl Lagerfeld was the creative director for Chanel and is widely credited with the famous brand’s transformation and success in the modern age.
Following the announcement of his passing, celebrities in fashion and entertainment industries around the world paid tribute to the designer’s legacy. These included Korean celebrities who were familiar with him and/or his work.
G-Dragon made his first Instagram post in almost a year to pay tribute to Karl Lagerfeld’s memory. The two were friends, exchanged gifts, and the singer was often invited to the designer’s events.
CL, another friend of the designer, posted about her love and gratitude for Karl Lagerfeld on her own Instagram.
BLACKPINK’s Jennie, who is known for her fashion sense and her relationship with the brand Chanel Korea, also posted a sweet message in Karl Lagerfeld’s honor.

Other Korean celebrities who paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld include GOT7’s Jackson, Song Hye Kyo, model Han Hye Jin, model Jung Ho Yeon, and celebrity stylist Han Hye Yeon.
Han Hye Jin wrote, “I cannot forget the first time I stood on his stage in Paris in 2006. As a fan, as a model, and as a woman, I was happy I could work with him. It’s hard to imagine Fendi and Chanel without him, but I pray that his final collections will wrap up successfully. He is another legend that has gone to rest by the side of Mademoiselle Coco and I will love and respect his memory. Karl, rest in peace.”
