Watch: Shin Sung Rok And Jang Nara Meet Again Under Different Circumstances In "The Last Empress" Epilogue
Though SBS’s “The Last Empress” is officially over, they have one last treat for fans of the drama!
On February 25, SBS shared an epilogue of the drama, showing Oh Sunny (Jang Nara) back on stage as a musical actress. What’s surprising is her partner for the scene is none other than Shin Sung Rok, who is not playing Emperor Lee Hyuk, but Jung Man Du, a huge fan of Oh Sunny.
The scene seems to be going well until Jung Man Du’s voice cracks at the end, and Oh Sunny chastises him for not practicing hard enough. However, he can’t stop smiling as he stands on stage with Oh Sunny as her long-time fan. She doesn’t feel like he’s taking her seriously but he says, “Though I’m very lacking and I like you more than you like me, I will do my best to become someone who is right for you. I’m going to make you like me even more.” The words overlap with what Oh Sunny had said to Lee Hyuk, causing her to pause for a moment.
Though Oh Sunny walks away from him, Jung Man Du isn’t deterred as he smiles wistfully after her. Viewers started buzzing with theories, with everything from it being someone who looks like Lee Hyuk to Lee Hyuk defying death and pretending to be someone else.
