BTS Named No. 2 Best-Selling Global Artist Of The Year By IFPI

BTS’s amazing 2018 is reflected on the Global Recording Artist of the Year chart from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI)!

The IFPI is a non-profit organization that represents the recorded music industry worldwide. On February 26, it announced 2018’s top 10 list of the best-selling recording artists, with Drake at No. 1.

BTS grabs the No. 2 spot, and IFPI credits the “massive global success” of their 2018 releases “Love Yourself: Tear” and “Love Yourself: Answer.”

The full top 10 is as follows:

1. Drake

3. Ed Sheeran
4. Post Malone
5. Eminem
6. Queen
7. Imagine Dragons
8. Ariana Grande
9. Lady Gaga
10. Bruno Mars

IFPI explains that its Global Recording Artist of the Year chart “includes sales of albums – across digital, CD and vinyl formats; singles, both downloaded and physical; and streams across the calendar year.” All music by each artist is included, instead of one track or album, and album equivalent units are used to combine measurements of downloads, physical sales, and streams.
