MBC Announces European Remakes Of 'The King Of Mask Singer' To Launch This Year

The King of Mask Singer” is set to reach a wider audience, this time in Europe!

On March 3, MBC announced that “The King of Mask Singer” will be adapted in France, Germany, and the Netherlands this year.

An American version of the show is already airing on FOX under the title “The Masked Singer.” The show attracted an average of 10 million viewers per episode and has been confirmed for a second season. A total of 10 episodes aired, with the last episode airing on February 27 scoring viewership ratings of 3.6 percent for a total of 11.45 million viewers.

With a successful showing in the U.S., the show’s format is moving on to Europe. Its first stop will be in France, where France’s largest broadcasting company TF1 has picked it up. TF1 not only airs in France, but in Switzerland and Belgium as well. Versions of the show are also scheduled to start airing this year in Germany and the Netherlands.

Park Hyun Ho, the head of MBC’s content department, stated, “MBC’s ‘The King of Mask Singer’ is an ever-evolving program that the whole world will soon be watching as it continues to grow.”
