GOT7's Jinyoung On Being Worried For First Lead Role In "He Is Psychometric," Shin Ye Eun Talks Rehearsing With Jinyoung
During a press conference for tvN’s upcoming drama “He Is Psychometric,” GOT7’s Jinyoung talked about how he got over his nerves for his first lead drama role.
He said, “It’s my first drama in a year, and on top that, it’s 16 episodes and I’m the lead, so I was really worried.” To help him get over his concerns, Jinyoung said he spent a lot of time speaking to the director. “After discussions with the director, I gained some confidence. I felt assured that I could lead the drama through the 16 episodes if I just do a good job portraying what’s written in the script.”
Asked if he had any difficulties portraying his character’s psychometric abilities, Jinyoung said, “I felt the need to find some special way to show the psychometry. But I also felt that if it were too special, it would seem over-the-top. So I gave Ian a habit that he does whenever he’s [reading secrets]. I thought it would give a certain ease of viewing if I did it that way.”
Actress Shin Ye Eun, who, like Jinyoung, is under JYP Entertainment, talked about working with the actor. She said, “We met at the agency and read lines and rehearsed together, so we naturally got closer.” She added, “Though there were ways in which I was lacking or inexperienced, Jinyoung sunbae helped me, so filming was really comfortable. I’ve met a good partner, and we’re having fun filming.”
“He Is Psychometric” airs on March 11.
