Lee Young Ja Becomes Content Creator Through Launch Of Her Own YouTube Channel
Lee Young Ja is beginning a new stage of her career as a YouTube content creator!
On February 28, the comedian announced that she planned to launch her own YouTube channel, “Lee Young Ja Channel.”
She brings not only her extensive comedy and variety show experience but also her experience as the MC on the show “LAN Cable Life.” “LAN Cable Life” invites online content creators, who have built up huge followings with their “one-man show” broadcasts, onto a more traditional mainstream network show (it airs on JTBC) in order to help the public understand this new subculture of content creation.
Lee Young Ja commented that she felt envious and awed at creators, who make their own decisions at every step of the creative process. She said, “Rather than living as my authentic self, I’ve lived as the Lee Young Ja that people see on their TV. I don’t know who I am anymore. Through ‘Lee Young Ja Channel,’ I want to show people my honest self.”
Content creation on the channel is scheduled to launch in April. A video released on the channel prior to its official launch showed the first public appearance of Lee Young Ja’s brother-in-law, a famous dubbing artist named Park Young Jae who has dubbed voices like John Watson in the Korean dub of the BBC drama “Sherlock.”
The pre-release video garnered over 100,000 views in 5 days. The production staff of “LAN Cable Life” stated, “We are also surprised to see the change in Lee Young Ja, who before her role as MC on our show was very unfamiliar with one-man show broadcasts. She thought for a long time before deciding to do this project.”
