GOT7's JB And Yugyeom Reveal They Made 15 Versions Of Jus2's "Focus On Me"

In an interview with YTN revealed on March 6, GOT7’s newly debuted unit Jus2, made up of GOT7 members JB and Yugyeom, talked about working with JYP producer Park Jin Young for “Focus,” their first mini album.

JB said, “[Park] Jin Young hyung has put a lot of trust in us. He’s seen me working on the music, working hard, and growing, and I think he approves.”

Yugyeom added that Park Jin Young takes time to listen to their opinions and what they want. “He’s such a good speaker he ends up convincing us a lot of the time, but musically, we have great communication.”

However, that doesn’t mean Park Jin Young went easy on the duo. Yugyeom said, “When we go to him to receive approval on music, he generally says the verse is okay and asks for changes on the hook, but this time, he kept asking for changes. We made about 15 different hooks for the song.”

The choreography also underwent changes at the request of Park Jin Young. Yugyeom said, “I was showing him the choreography, and there were parts where we disagreed. After I suggested changes to certain parts, he gave the okay.”
