Yoon Kyun Sang Asks Viewers Not To Adopt Pets On Impulse After His 'I Live Alone' Episode

On the March 8 broadcast of MBC’s “I Live Alone,” Yoon Kyun Sang shared moments from his life at home with his four cats, amazing both the viewers and cast members with his bond with his pets and his dedication to raising them.

Following the broadcast, the actor wrote a message on his Instagram warning viewers against deciding to raise pets on impulse and asked that they think carefully before making the commitment. Two of Yoon Kyun Sang’s own cats were ones that had been returned by their previous owners after they found that they couldn’t take on the responsibility.

Yoon Kyun Sang’s full message:

Thank you so much for enjoying my episode of ‘I Live Alone.’ There’s something that I want to say.

Did you think my kids (cats) were cute? Then, did you also see all the shedding fur and the time that it requires to take care of them? You may have seen just a little bit because it was on TV, but raising pets is a huge commitment and requires a lot of time and sacrifice.

It could negatively affect your health, steal your time, and you may even have to give up your hobbies. If you saw the broadcast and came to my Instagram because you [suddenly] think you’d like to adopt cats, I ask that you don’t.

Please don’t adopt cats on an impulse and end up hurting or killing them. You could develop new allergies or get cuts, and the hospital bills [for animals] are incredibly high because there’s no insurance.

They can break cups and plates, and if they get stressed, they might not use their litter box. Moreover, cats are not readily affectionate.

Please think about it as if you were going to raise a human being, make your decision carefully, and welcome any new cats as family members.

Thank you.
