N.Flying Talks About The Emotional Moment They Got No. 1 With "Rooftop"
N.Flying spoke all about the popularity of their song “Rooftop.”
On March 21, the boy group appeared as guests on KBS CoolFM’s “Moon Hee Jun‘s Music Show.”
A month after its initial release, N.Flying’s “Rooftop” unexpectedly rose to No. 1 on online music charts in February. The group then won their first-ever No. 1 on “The Show” and have been busily promoting the song again.
When asked about achieving No. 1, Kim Jae Hyun said, “I was a trainee for a while. I burst into tears as the memories until now passed by.” He then made everyone laugh by adding, “The agency told me never to cry again in the future because I looked ugly.”
The group’s leader Lee Seung Hyub said, “It was the same for me. The past flashed across my mind and I let out a sigh at first. I was just in a daze.” Cha Hoon added, “I also almost burst into tears, but the members were crying so much. It felt as if we might not be able to thank everyone, so I held it in and named each person.”
Speaking about the process of writing “Rooftop,” Lee Seung Hyub said, “I thought about the rooftop at first. Indirectly, there are many things that people of this generation have to give up while dating. I wanted to comfort people about that, so I wrote the lyrics, ‘It’s okay. You’re my universe and you make me shine.'”
After N.Flying’s live performance of “Rooftop,” DJ Moon Hee Jun commented on Yoo Hoe Seung’s high notes, saying, “You must get worried if your condition isn’t good since you have to give it your all.” The singer replied with a smile, “That’s exactly right. I focus a lot on managing my condition and sometimes get upset, but there are more times when I’m not [upset].”
