INFINITE's Sungyeol Enlists In The Military
INFINITE’s Sungyeol is beginning his mandatory military service.
On March 26, Sungyeol entered the training center of the 37th Infantry Division located in Jeungpyung Country in North Chungcheung Province. He will go through basic military training at the center, after which he will receive his official assignment and begin serving as an active duty soldier.
Sungyeol previously expressed his wish to enlist quietly, but he stopped to answer short questions from the press. One question asked him to name a girl group he wishes to see during his service, to which Sungyeol answered, “I only [want to see] my labelmate Lovelyz. Lovelyz, please come visit.”
Prior to his enlistment, Sungyeol took to Instagram and shared a photo with his fellow groupmates Dongwoo and Sungjong and his younger brother Golden Child’s Daeyeol. Along with the photo, Sungyeol wrote, “INSPIRIT, I’ll be back. I love you.”
Golden Child’s Daeyeol also took to Twitter and shared a message in support of his brother. With a photo of the two together, Daeyeol wrote in the caption, “My one and only older brother who is dependable and has made me proud!! Don’t hurt yourself and return safely~~~!! Hwaiting!!”

On March 22, Sungyeol also shared a sweet letter he wrote to fans, in which he thanked them for always being by his side and promised to stay healthy while serving in the military.
