Lee Yi Kyung Shares How He Became Friends With Co-Star Ahn So Hee Of "Welcome To Waikiki 2"

On the April 1 episode of JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,” actors Lee Yi Kyung and Ahn So Hee appeared as guests!

The pair are starring in the drama “Welcome to Waikiki 2.” On the JTBC variety show, Ahn So Hee talked about working with Lee Yi Kyung. “Even when we’re filming, he comes up with added lines that are really funny,” she said. “The scenes are funny and the atmosphere on set is also really great.”

When Lee Yi Kyung was asked if it’s true that he often contacts Ahn So Hee, he explained, “Our director had a suggestion. We play longtime friends in the drama, so in order for us to become friends quickly, I contacted her a lot and started conversations with her when we had work dinners.”

“However, there’s one thing I want to ask her,” he continued. “In the beginning I’d ask about trivial things. I asked her ‘Have you eaten?’ and then I got a reply the next day.” Ahn So Hee and the hosts laughed.

“But I didn’t give up and I kept messaging her,” he said. “I learned that she does things like pilates, so I asked her, ‘Did you work out today?’ I got a reply the next day that said ‘I just finished.’ So I’m not sure if she had exercised just then or the day before.” The hosts jokingly asked Ahn So Hee if she’d been trying to put a distance between herself and Lee Yi Kyung.

Ahn So Hee replied, “I checked my phone too late and since we weren’t that close then, I felt bad about sending a reply late at night. I was really cautious then.”
