Moon Ga Young Talks About Her Friendship With Apink's Namjoo

Actress Moon Ga Young, who is currently starring in JTBC’s “Welcome to Waikiki 2,” participated in a photo shoot and interview with bnt.

When asked why she decided to star in “Welcome to Waikiki 2,” she responded, “I think Waikiki is its own unique genre. It’s different from any other sitcom or drama. It’s a drama you can watch mindlessly and laugh at.” She added, “I felt like I needed to take this role because I may not get the opportunity to play a comic character any other time.”

Regarding the filming of “Welcome to Waikiki 2,” she commented, “Because the script itself is so funny, the filming of the drama is so much fun. We [the actors] have discussions [about the drama] together, and the ad-libs are hilarious. The ad-libs are so funny that they make me wonder if some of them will be edited out.” As she named Lee Yi Kyung the funniest person from the cast, she said, “He [Lee Yi Kyung] has a great sense of humor. He is full of ideas and a great leader.”

Moon Ga Young also shared her thoughts regarding her hiatus. She stated, “I grew 10 centimeters when I was in eighth grade. Having started my acting career at a young age, after I grew, I was either too tall for a child role or too young-looking for an adult role. So that’s why I had a hiatus in my career. It was during that time that I became more passionate about acting.”

Moon Ga Young revealed that she is close friends with Apink’s Namjoo. She shared, “We had already known each other previously but then we also entered the same school. We usually go to coffee shops and chat for three to four hours straight.  We try to meet whenever we have the time.”
