Park Ji Hoon Describes The Difference Between Promoting As A Solo Artist And As A Group
Park Ji Hoon recently talked about promoting as a solo artist during a lying down broadcast on Naver’s V Live.
During the broadcast held on April 3, Park Ji Hoon stated, “My days of being 20 [by Korean reckoning] are over, and my days of being 21 are passing by. It’s even April 3 today. A week has passed since the release of my first album. Time passes by really quickly.”
He continued, “When I first started preparing for the album, I was curious about what kind of song and choreography I’d have, but now, on top of sharing my first album, I can’t believe it’s already been a week.”
The singer then commented, “After the album was released, I was so busy. I had to prepare for the showcase, and didn’t it feel different listening [to the songs] through online steaming sites? I was busy listening to my voice through the online streaming sites and monitoring my music video. I also prepared for my overseas fan meeting. I felt so antsy. I thought that it’d be nice if the album was released already, but I think today has come after such a hectic week.”
He then shared his feelings on promoting as a solo artist, saying, “It was my first album where I had to do things on my own, so a lot of people helped me. The composers, my friends, and my seniors let me know, so that was really helpful. The [Wanna One] members I previously promoted with supported me too. They supported me by saying, ‘You’ll do well,’ so I worked hard on the album with a grateful mind.”
He also shared, “Personally, I feel an absence after promoting as a group, and then as a solo artist. I worked hard on my songs, facial expressions, and dances so that [people] are unable to feel that absence. Rather than the image I usually displayed, the cute image, I wanted to show this new image of myself in my 20s, so I prepared really hard. I also went on a diet. The diet was everyday for 365 days. I dieted really hard. I had to do it.”
Park Ji Hoon released his solo debut album “O’CLOCK” on March 26. Check out the music video for its title track “L.O.V.E” here!
