Im Siwan Donates All Earnings From Military Service To Help Elementary School
Im Siwan has made a meaningful donation!
On April 8, it was reported that Im Siwan had donated his salary from his time in the military. A source from his agency confirmed the news and said, “It is true that Im Siwan donated his entire military salary to an elementary school.”
The source stated that in early April, a few days after he was discharged from the military, Im Siwan donated his military salary and some of his own personal money to Hyochon Elementary School in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province.
They went on to explain, “While Im Siwan was in the army, he volunteered at the school and helped the students with subjects like math. He must have grown very attached to the kids. He had talked about wanting to use his military salary in a meaningful way, and he made the decision to donate it to the school. We don’t know the exact amount, but from what we know, he donated his salary and added some of his personal money as well.”
Im Siwan also donated 20 million won (approximately $17,600) to Hope Bridge – Korea Disaster Relief Association on April 5 following the Gangwon Province fires. His donation will be used to help provide emergency resources and cover reconstruction fees for those affected.
Since being discharged from the military, Im Siwan is currently looking over an offer to appear in the film “Boston 1947” and he will soon begin filming the OCN drama “Strangers from Hell” (working title).
