Variety Shows Take Action Following Robert Holley's Arrest On Suspicions Of Drug Usage
Following the arrest of Robert Holley on suspicions of drug use, variety shows including MBC’s “Radio Star” and TV Chosun’s “How Much Is It?” (literal title) announced their plans to edit out Robert Holley’s appearances in upcoming and past episodes.
On April 8, the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency’s Cyber Crime team arrested Robert Holley at around 4:10 p.m. KST on suspicions of violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, etc.
Robert Holley is facing allegations of taking Philopon (a form of methamphetamine) at his home. It is reported that Robert Holley admitted to some of the allegations that were made against him during questioning at the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency.
The following is the official statement from “Radio Star”:
Robert Holley was supposed to appear in the upcoming episode of “Radio Star,” which is scheduled to air this Wednesday. An unfortunate incident occurred after we had already finished filming and editing [for the upcoming episode].
The production team will take into consideration the gravity of this matter, for which an investigation by the police is currently taking place, and how viewers feel about drug cases involving celebrities. Therefore, we will try our best to edit out the scenes that show and are related to Robert Holley as much as possible for viewers to comfortably enjoy the show. Thank you.
TV Chosun also announced that they will be canceling VOD streaming services for their variety show “How Much Is It?” A source from the network stated, “Robert Holley was just one of the guests that appeared in ‘How Much Is It?’ Reruns of the show will be edited, and we will cancel VOD streaming services. We will stop viewing short video clips from episodes. There are no plans for [Robert Holley] to appear in future episodes. There was never a plan for him to reappear.”
