TS Entertainment's Legal Disputes With Song Ji Eun And Jun Hyosung To Be Protracted
The dispute over exclusive contracts between girl group Secret and TS Entertainment is expected to be prolonged with the agency preparing for a damage suit against Jun Hyosung.
On April 12, OSEN revealed that TS Entertainment is preparing to file a counterclaim against Jun Hyosung for damages, holding her responsible for violating the contract.
Jun Hyosung had previously filed a civil lawsuit against TS Entertainment in September 2017, but the agency denied all claims of issues with payments. TS Entertainment’s stance is that it is not possible to terminate her contract as it still remains valid until 2021.
In October 2018, Jun Hyosung signed with Tommy & Partners Entertainment, and in November of the same year, the court ruled in favor of Jun Hyosung. However, TS Entertainment filed an appeal against Jun Hyosung’s management duties and settlements, saying, “There was no problem.” According to the agency, Jun Hyosung’s claims were only partially approved through the court, but a decent portion of the claims was dismissed because they were not acknowledged as valid.
Therefore, TS Entertainment is preparing to file a counterclaim against Jun Hyosung, seeking compensation from the plaintiff, along with the termination of the contract based on the violation of exclusive contracts. Through a counteroffer, Jun Hyosung will be held responsible for the breach of the contract.
Song Ji Eun is also at odds with TS Entertainment. Earlier this month in an official press conference, the agency stated, “In a state in which Song Ji Eun’s exclusive contract had not yet expired, Song Ji Eun unilaterally informed us of a contract termination with proof of contents around May of 2017, and she signed a contract with a new agency in January of 2019.”
Song Ji Eun previously notified TS Entertainment in May 2017 of the termination of the contract with one-sided verification of its contents at a time when her exclusive contract with TS Entertainment had not expired. She later signed an exclusive contract with Haewadal Entertainment in January but ended the contract less than two months later.
