BTS Talks About Being Inspired By Fans For Their New Album "Map Of The Soul: Persona"
During the press conference for their latest album “Map of the Soul: Persona” on April 17, BTS spoke about inspiration for the album and love for fans.
RM shared, “Through the ‘Love Yourself’ series, we experienced unimaginable events and emotions. We were trying to decide what kind of stories to tell this time, and we wanted to speak about love, which is the power that lifted us up until this point.”
He continued, “Thinking that it is the process of getting to know what is inside of us, we worked with the title ‘Map of the Soul.’ ‘Persona’ expresses the power of our intuitive love towards fans. We wanted to get to know the emotions of each fan. The happiness felt by fans is our happiness, so I hope [the fans] will happily enjoy this album.”
It was also mentioned that worldwide sales increased for the book “Jung’s Map of the Soul,” which the album title was inspired by. Jungkook commented, “ARMY have told us that they study a lot thanks to us. We want to bring them more joy when we see them enjoying as they speculate and interpret the new album.”
He added, “The existence of ARMY is something we are truly grateful for. They are everything that made the BTS we are now. As our curiosity about ARMY continuously increases, we talked about this with Bang Shi Hyuk in a meeting. He said it is a great [idea], so it developed into becoming the basis of this album’s theme.”
“ARMY around the world tell us often that they have gained strength, been comforted, or have changed their lives thanks to us. Whenever they do so, it feels as if the power of music and the strength of ARMY and BTS’s bond increases, and our responsibility also grows. Seeing how we are a positive influence on each other, I think we have an inseparable bond,” Jungkook concluded.
