Highlight's Lee Gikwang Writes Letter To Fans Ahead Of Enlistment

With his compulsory military enlistment coming up this afternoon (April 18), Highlight’s Lee Gikwang wrote a letter saying goodbye to fans.

To. Light

Hello. This is Gikwang. It’s already been 10 years since my debut. Time really flies. The past 10 years have been so happy. This isn’t just something I’m saying. Thanks to you, so many moments have been happy, precious, and a lot of fun.

I’m so happy, and it’s such a blessing that I am able to spend time with you and see your faces right up until [it’s time to enlist]. l’ll be taking a great memory with me.

Once again, I’d like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for always caring and cheering for me and my friends.

It’s time now for me, and you too, to take a brief rest. Just like 10 years have gone by so fast, I think this one year and seven months will go by very quickly, and it’ll be a time when we can happily and healthily think about how thankful and important we are to each other.

So don’t worry too much. About two years later, after having taken a happy and healthy rest, let’s meet again with smiles on our faces.

Thank you for always being there and giving us your love for 10 long years. I ask for your continued love in the future. Until then, stay healthy and happy. Goodbye.

Lee Gikwang is enlisting on April 18. His agency, Around Us Entertainment, said that the artist will be undergoing four weeks of basic training, after which he will train for another two to three weeks at the police academy. Lee Gikwang will then complete his compulsory service as a conscripted policeman.

The singer will be leaving a parting gift for fans in the form of a digital single, which will be released at 6 p.m. April 18.
