TWICE Shares Thoughts On Japanese Dome Tour And Upcoming World Tour
On April 22, TWICE held a press conference for the release of their seventh mini album “FANCY YOU” at the YES24 Live Hall in Seoul.
TWICE, who successfully concluded their Japanese Dome Tour earlier this year, recently announced a world tour. After kicking off the tour in Seoul on May 25 and 26, the group will head abroad to perform in Bangkok, Manila, Singapore, and more cities in the United States.
TWICE became the first K-pop girl group to have a dome tour in Japan and was also the fastest foreign artist to perform at the Tokyo Dome after debuting. Momo said, “More [fans] than we could ever imagine came to the dome tour, so it felt like a dream. I think [we were able to] have our tour at big venues thanks to ONCE. I greatly appreciate them.”
Sana said, “I’m thankful and happy for being able to do a dome tour. It was an honor. Of course, we felt a lot of pressure. However, because we knew how hard it is to stand on a big stage [like the Tokyo Dome], we wanted to work harder and show you better performances.”
Mina added, “I believe many people like the fact that we sing songs that give them energy and that they are able to feel our teamwork [through performances].”
Lastly, Jihyo talked about the impressive feat they achieved with the dome tour. She said, “The members like concerts. Instead of emphasis on our achievement as singers, we found meaning in the dome tour being a festival that fans and TWICE could enjoy together.”
Nayeon commented on the upcoming world tour. She said, “This is our first time having a solo concert in the United States. We are also excited and want to meet our fans as soon as possible.”
TWICE made a comeback with “FANCY” on April 22 at 6 p.m. KST. Check out the music video here!
