BTS’s “Boy With Luv” has debuted at the group’s highest ranking yet on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart!
On April 22 local time, Billboard announced that BTS’s title track “Boy With Luv” featuring Halsey off their new mini album “Map of the Soul: Persona” debuted on the Hot 100 chart at No. 8.
The group first entered the top 10 of the Hot 100 chart when “Fake Love” debuted at No. 10 last spring.
“Boy With Luv” is now the highest charting song by a Korean group on the Hot 100, and BTS is the first Korean group to earn multiple Hot 100 top 10 songs. They are also the second Korean artist overall, after PSY reached No. 2 with “Gangnam Style” in 2012 and No. 5 with “Gentleman” in 2013.
The track takes No. 5 on the Streaming Songs chart with 29.9 million U.S. streams, which is the group’s best ranking on the chart (they previously reached a peak of No. 7 with “Fake Love”). It’s the best streaming week ever for a Korean artist!
“Boy With Luv” is also at No. 3 on the Digital Song Sales chart (with 31,000 in sales), and this is BTS’s fourth time in the top 10 of the chart. The track hit 9.7 million in radio reach and it rises from No. 35 to No. 29 on the Pop Songs chart.
It was recently announced that BTS’s “Map of the Soul: Persona” has taken No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States. They are now the first Korean artist to top the chart three times, and also the first traditional music group since the Beatles to take No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with three different albums in less than a year.
Billboard’s full charts for this week will be updated on April 23.
Congratulations to BTS!
