Shin Ha Kyun Expresses Love And Respect For Co-Star Lee Kwang Soo

Shin Ha Kyun shared his thoughts on working with Lee Kwang Soo in the upcoming film “Inseparable Bros.”

“Inseparable Bros” is a film based on a true story about two brothers who are not related by blood but grew up together and stayed by each other’s side for 20 years. It tells the story Se Ha (played by Shin Ha Kyun) who is smart but has a physical disability, Dong Goo (played by Lee Kwang Soo) who is physically healthy but has the mental capability of a child, and Mi Hyun (played by Esom) who helps them.

In a recent interview, Shin Ha Kyun said, “I didn’t know that Lee Kwang Soo was an actor who immersed and focused that much on set. He barely talked and focused on his character. Dong Goo, whom Lee Kwang Soo portrays, is a character where it could be a problem if he were exaggerated even by a little. But he acted while not crossing that line.”

He continued, “In ‘Inseparable Bros,’ we couldn’t exaggerate too much for the comedy aspect. We had to find a good balance and I said, ‘Wow he’s doing a good job’ while watching Lee Kwang Soo’s acting. I completely trusted him so I think those kinds of reactions and expressions naturally came out. We worked well together since the beginning.”

“After filming ‘Inseparable Bros,’ I also felt happy and healed,” said Shin Ha Kyun. “I was also in that kind of relationship with Lee Kwang Soo. I really liked discussing with him [about the film and acting]. On how he showed good teamwork, my love for [Lee Kwang Soo] is so big but I can’t really express that well in front of him.”

He added, “Lee Kwang Soo is such a lovely junior actor. I was also moved as an actor. I received a lot of help from him. The reason why Se Ha was able to express those kinds of feelings was because those sides of Dong Goo could be seen in Lee Kwang Soo.”

“Inseparable Bros” will premiere on May 1.
