Watch: Seo In Guk And Jung So Min Tease Their Special Cameos In Preview For "Abyss"
A former on-screen couple will be making a cameo in tvN’s newest drama “Abyss”!
“Abyss” tells the story of two childhood friends—prosecutor Go Se Yeon (played by Park Bo Young) and chaebol heir Cha Min (played by Ahn Hyo Seop)—who are murdered and brought back to life by a magical orb called the abyss. They’re reborn into people with completely different appearances from the way they looked before their deaths and team up to find the people who killed them.
On April 26, tvN released a preview of the first episode featuring Seo In Guk and Jung So Min. The two actors will portray characters who play important roles in the evolving storyline.
In the preview, a man dangles on the top of a building before falling off. Seo In Guk walks over to the dead body, puts his hand on him, and revives the dead man. He nonchalantly explains, “If you’re sad that you’re dead, I can just revive you,” and Ahn Hyo Seop’s soul flies over his dead body.
Seo In Guk continues, “Simply put, the conclusion is that you’ve been revived with a face that’s advantageous for living on Earth.” Stopping Jung So Min and Seo In Guk on the street, Ahn Hyo Seop asks, “What’s the expiration date for this face?”
Kim Sa Rang then appears and gets stopped by a stranger on the street who hands her a flyer requesting for the investigation of a serial killer. She also tackles a man whom she spots looking into her car. “It’s not like we’re not catching him because we don’t want to,” says Kim Sa Rang. “We’re the ones who want to catch him the most.” Kim Sa Rang is then found murdered in her room, and Ahn Hyo Seop cries while asking for her to be revived. She becomes reborn into Park Bo Young and doesn’t recognize the face she sees in the reflection of a car window.
Ahn Hyo Seop grabs her and takes her to an underground parking lot before asking, “You’re Go Se Yeon, right?” Not recognizing her friend who’s been reborn with a new face, Park Bo Young asks, “Who are you?”
Seo In Guk and Jung So Min received lots of love as a couple on tvN’s 2018 drama “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes,” and decided to appear in “Abyss” due to their friendship with director Yoo Jae Won, who directed their previous drama.
On the day of filming, Seo In Guk and Jung So Min said hello to every single staff member they were acquainted with including director Yoo Jae Won. Despite their short appearance, the two actors showed their enthusiasm by discussing the scene with the director during rehearsals and preparing themselves for the filming.
A source from the drama said, “Seo In Guk and Jung So Min’s special appearance will leave a mark on the history of cameos. The two of them will appear on the first episode and show a scene that’s mysterious but has a special meaning. I expect Seo In Guk and Jung So Min’s appearance to give viewers a fun and refreshing feeling.”
“Abyss” premieres on May 6 at 9:30 p.m. KST. Check out the preview below:
