3 Things To Watch For As "Produce X 101" Nears It Premiere
There’s just one day till the new season of Mnet’s “Produce 101” series begins.
The new season “Produce X 101” is set to bring many twists to what people have learned about the series since its inception in 2016, and here are three things you should watch for.
Nation’s producer representative Lee Dong Wook
Following Jang Geun Suk, BoA, and Lee Seung Gi, actor Lee Dong Wook will be taking on the role of representing the nation’s producers in “Produce X 101.” Lee Dong Wook said, “I also had a time where I kept training for my dreams with an anxious heart,” and “Because I know how much these trainees dream of debuting, I wanted to show them my support and that’s why I agreed to appear on the show.” This will be the first time the MC is the same gender as the trainees, and he is expected to be like an approachable older brother to the trainees.
Knowledge from a star-studded mentors
A group of mentors have gathered to help train a new global idol group, with vocal trainers Lee Seok Hoon and Shin Yoo Mi, rap trainer Cheetah, dance trainers Bae Yoon Jung, Kwon Jae Seung, and Choi Young Joon. Talented vocalist Lee Seok Hoon and idol vocal director Shin Yoo Mi are expected to whip the trainees into shape as they have in previous seasons.
Cheetah will be sharing her rapping know-how with the trainees this season. Queen maker Bae Yoon Jung, boy group dance maker Kwon Jae Seung, and idol “killing point” choreography maker Choi Young Joon will transform the trainees into dancing machines.
101 talented and charming trainees
This season will bring together a group of talented trainees who dream of making their debut. On April 26, a teaser of the trainees showcasing their skills and charms was shown. The trainees will be bringing their sweet voices, stellar dance skills, and powerful raps to a fierce competition to create the best performances possible.
Producing director (PD) Ahn Joon Young recently attended the show’s press conference and said, “The most important focal point of this season is, of course, the 101 trainees. They are all talented and hardworking. I hope people will pay close attention to them.”
“Produce X 101” will premiere on Friday at 11 p.m. KST.
