Park Yoochun Reported To Have Used Drugs Since Summer Of 2018

On May 3, MBC’s “Newdesk” reported additional details regarding Park Yoochun’s drug use.

Park Yoochun was arrested on April 26 after being suspected of purchasing 1.5 grams of Philopon (a form of methamphetamine) with his former girlfriend Hwang Ha Na on three occasions between February and March of 2019 and injecting the drugs five times. During his police questioning on April 29, Park Yoochun admitted to most of the charges on drug use and admitted to two additional instances of using drugs. On May 3, the Narcotics Unit of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency forwarded Park Yoochun to the prosecution on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

During the broadcast, MBC reported that during his police questioning following his arrest, Park Yoochun confessed that he had injected Philopon since the summer of 2018. After receiving the drugs from Hwang Ha Na last summer, he reportedly injected the drugs by himself out of his own curiosity at his home in Samseong neighborhood in Seoul.

Park Yoochun also reportedly testified that he had used the drugs seven times, but six of those instances were with Hwang Ha Na.

However, Park Yoochun and Hwang Ha Na’s statements differ over the method of drug use and how many times it was administered. Hwang Ha Na has claimed that she purchased and injected the drugs at Park Yoochun’s suggestion.

The prosecution is expected to continue its investigation into the truth behind the conflicting statements.
