"Abyss" Reveals Three Main Points To Look Out For Before Its Premiere
tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Abyss” has given viewers three interesting points to watch out for in “Abyss”!
Park Bo Young’s return to drama
One important fact about “Abyss” is that the show will mark Park Bo Young’s return to drama for the first time in two years. Park Bo Young will be making a shocking transformation into a character that has the most typical face in the world. Having starred in popular dramas “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon,” “Oh My Ghostess,” and films “On Your Wedding Day,” “A Werewolf Boy,” and “Scandal Makers,” Park Bo Young along with her skillful acting and charms will shine even brighter in “Abyss.” Park Bo Young will also show off her diverse acting skills ranging from her comical acting as she brags about her beauty to her tragic and emotional acting as she realizes her parents don’t recognize her after being reborn. In particular, look forward to how Park Bo Young will portray her character’s 20-year-long friendship with “super rookie” Ahn Hyo Seop’s character, as well as the star-studded lineup including Lee Sung Jae, Lee Si Eon, Han So Hee, Kwon Soo Hyun, and special guests Kim Sa Rang, and Ahn Se Ha.
A new collaboration with Park Bo Young and the director of “Oh My Ghostess” Yoo Jae Won
“Abyss” has already become a hot topic for bringing back the successful collaboration from “Oh My Ghostess” between Park Bo Young and director Yoo Jae Won. Their synergy will captivate their audience once more as director Yoo Jae Won perfectly captures Park Bo Young’s lovely acting with delicate detail. At the press conference for “Abyss,” director Yoo Jae Won displayed his affection for the actress by saying, “I like the way Park Bo Young acts. I like the tempo she digests her role on set and the way she responds to the director’s words, and I’m happy because we get good results when that’s shown on screen. Meanwhile, Park Bo Young said, “Since it’s my second time meeting him, I was able to understand the director’s words faster. On working together with director Yoo Jae Won, nothing could have been better for me as it was the best decision.”

Thriller + romance + Park Bo Young and Ahn Hyo Seop’s comical chemistry + unique story
“Abyss” will combine various genres as a comical yet suspenseful story. The fantasy drama is about a pair of friends who embark on a quest to find their killer after being reincarnated by a magical marble. The childhood friends return from the dead as entirely different people, and Cha Min (Ahn Hyo Seop), who was previously somewhat lacking in the looks department, finds himself transformed into a stunningly handsome man. Meanwhile, Go Se Yeon (Park Bo Young), who was formerly a breathtakingly beautiful prosecutor, is brought back to life as an ordinary-looking woman. The fresh development in which the rules of the marble claim that the dead must be brought back looking different, with Park Bo Young being reborn with the face of someone who already exists and Ahn Hyo Seop also bringing back his first love and the killer from the dead, will make the viewers curious with anticipation.
The production staff for “Abyss” shared, “With a heavy thriller as its base, ‘Abyss’ will add the fun of a unique fantasy element and genre with a magical marble that brings people back to life and include tvN’s trademark trendy style and attempts at new things.” They added, “Please check out ‘Abyss’ which will deliver a variety of fun with its tasty mix of thriller, fantasy, comedy, and romance genre.”
“Abyss” will premiere on May 6 at 9:30 p.m. KST.
