Watch: “Produce X 101” Trainees Battle In 1st Group Mission To Songs By EXO, GOT7, NCT U, And More In Emotional Preview

Contestants of Mnet’s “Produce X 101” will compete in their first group mission!

On May 10, the idol survival show aired a preview for next week’s episode.

The clip begins with dance teacher Choi Young Joon calling out Son Dong Pyo’s name as he fumbles while dancing in the center.

Lee Dong Wook then appears in front of the contestants to announce news about a survival battle within group X, the lowest ranking group. The hopeful idols react in shock when the MC reveals how many from the group will remain. A trainee comments, “Almost everyone is being eliminated.”

Son Dong Pyo then begins to name members for his team, including Kim Min Kyu and Kim Yo Han, and some express dismay at his choices of high ranking, talented contestants.

Lee Dong Wook continues to surprise the contestants with details on how other teams will be decided, leading some trainees to comment, “It’s cruel,” and “Mnet, of course.” Viewers also get a glimpse of choreographer Bae Yoon Jung, who will once again appear as a trainer on the show.

The preview ends with glimpses of the group performances, trainers’ reactions, and tears.
