Fin.K.L Members Gather For 21st Debut Anniversary
The Fin.K.L members have gathered in one spot to celebrate the 21st anniversary of their debut!
On May 12, the Instagram account for Ock Joo Hyun’s official fan club uploaded a video of Lee Hyori, Ock Joo Hyun, Lee Jin, and Sung Yuri enjoying lunch together at a restaurant. In the clip, the members compliment each other on maintaining their youthful appearance and sing the “Happy Birthday” song after exclaiming, “It’s [Fin.K.L’s] 21st anniversary!” This is the members’ first official reunion as a full group in 14 years.
Fin.K.L made their debut in 1998 and is known for being one of the most popular first generation girl groups. The members released their final album “Forever Fin.K.L” in 2005 and continued to promote individually.
On May 3, it was confirmed that all four members will be reuniting for a new JTBC variety show.
After the announcement, Ock Joo Hyun wrote on her official fan cafe, “I wanted to first inform fans who have waited for a long time about our activities as a full group again, because I believed that when a good and appropriate time came for us to meet as one, we would meet. There have been several news articles using the word ‘reunite’ in the titles, but I don’t think ‘reunite’ is an appropriate word since Fin.K.L did not ‘disband.’ The official activities for Fin.K.L. as a whole group will begin on May 12, our debut day.”
Sung Yuri also wrote on her official fan cafe, “The days have gone by quickly, and there have been many changes for all of us, but somewhere deep inside my heart, unforgettable memories are deeply ingrained. We plan on bringing out the moments that were like our spring days with the excitement of that time. I hope it’ll be a special time for you [fans] who’ve always been there.”
The variety show is scheduled to premiere sometime this summer.
