Lee Dong Hwi In Talks To Star In Upcoming Webtoon-Based Drama

Lee Dong Hwi may be returning to the small screen with a new webtoon-based drama!

On May 16, a media outlet reported that Lee Dong Hwi may take the role of Moon Seok Gu in tvN’s “Cheap Cheonlima Mart” (literal title). In response, his label Huayi Brothers Korea commented, “He received the offer to star in ‘Cheap Cheonlima Mart’ and is positively reviewing it.”

Kim Gyu Sam’s webtoon of the same name is about the employees of ‘Cheap Cheonlima Mart’, which is a large store in the city of Bonghwa, Gyeonggi Province. Producer Baek Seung Ryong, who directed seasons five to seven of “Rude Miss Young Ae,” seasons two to four of “SNL Korea,” and more will be directing the drama.

“Cheap Cheonlima Mart” is scheduled to air in the second half of the year on Friday nights.
