SM Entertainment's Lee Soo Man And Mayor Meng Fanli Discuss Strategies To Turn Qingdao Into A Global Music City
An exciting cultural exchange between South Korea and China may be underway.
On May 14, SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo Man met with Mayor Meng Fanli at the SMTOWN Coex Artium in Seoul.
While walking around SMTOWN Coex Artium, they discussed Qingdao’s “Global Trend City Project” that Mayor Meng Fanli is currently working on and discussed various topics including Korea-China cultural exchange and cooperation projects.
About Qingdao’s “Global Trend City Project,” Lee Soo Man suggested branding strategies that would turn the city into a leader of cultural trends such as buildings for a future environment, music performances, events, and various cultural content so that it could transform into a “Music X Future City.”
Mayor Meng Fanli showed a lot of interest in the SMTOWN Coex Artium, such as the SM Entertainment archive SMTOWN Museum as well as the multi-format theater SMTOWN Theatre, and expressed high expectations for Lee Soo Man work in city branding.
Following this meeting, SM Entertainment and the city of Qingdao are expected to work closely together for creative city planning and future city branding.
