Watch: Lee Seung Gi Impresses With His Sword Fighting Skills On "Master In The House"
Lee Seung Gi showed off his flawless sword fighting skills on SBS’s “Master in the House“!
On the May 19 episode of the show, the cast traveled to an action school in Paju and met their latest master, the renowned martial arts director Jung Doo Hong. The action director and stuntman boasts a 20-year friendship with actor Lee Byung Hun and has worked with him in movies such as “The Good, the Bad, and the Weird,” “G.I. Joe,” and “Red 2.”
Jung Doo Hong introduced his school by explaining, “Every year, from April to October, I give free lessons for six months to people who are interested. This is the only action school in the world that provides this kind of structured action training.”
The cast was then able to experience the training for themselves. Jung Doo Hong stated, “It’s no fun to watch nimble people like yourselves doing Ma Dong Seok-style action. I’ll teach you based on your individual styles.”
The four members went through a series of trials, the first of which was using a trampoline to jump over walls of varying heights and thicknesses. They also took on the challenge of acting out a fight scene with each other under the premise of delinquents meeting in a high school bathroom. Their swearing ad-libs during the scene made everyone crack up.
However, the highlight was Lee Seung Gi’s sword fighting. Jung Doo Hong suggested that they each pick a weapon and choreograph a scene. After choosing a sword, Lee Seung Gi began learning how to match up with the other actors. In the end, his smooth execution of the fight surprised even Jung Doo Hong, who complimented him by saying, “You’re the best!” BTOB’s Yook Sung Jae added, “You really were like a role model.”
