Fashion Icons: Outfits From BTS's "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" World Tour We're Still Obsessing Over
Post-concert blues is real, and all of us who attended the BTS world tour “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” are going through it at the moment. Holograms, flying Jungkook, water cannons, fireworks… there’s so much that happens during a BTS show that it’s hard to forget the experience. Incredible talent aside for a second, their production team puts their 120 percent into it, coming up with a mise-en-scène for the books. Part of this is of course what they wear, and let me tell you, this tour didn’t hold back when talking outfits. From collabs with renowned fashion designers to simple yet spectacular matching sets, here are some of the best outfits we saw during BTS’s Speak Yourself Tour in North America.
Opening Act – Full White
BTS knows how to blow our minds from the very moment they step on stage for the first time. The all-white outfits they wear at the beginning of the show are without a doubt some of our favorite looks and will remain on our minds for a long time. Embroidered jewels, white textures, satin, glitter, leather, silk, and pearls take over the first three stages of the show, letting us know we’re in for a ride.
Jin’s Epiphany
Definitely one of the most powerful performances in the show is when Jin takes over the stage for his solo. The whole crowd melts into his angelic and powerful vocals. The white robe with embedded jewel dewdrops and simple yet delicate lace shirt become the final touches to transform this into an iconic moment.
RM’s State of Love
The best part about RM’s solo stage is how RM everything is, from the lyrics to the holograms on the big screens to the printed silk robe and simple blue jeans he’s wearing. You can tell he’s 100 percent comfortable with himself in his outfit, which turns this into a beautiful and intimate moment between him and the crowd.
Suga’s Reinvented Red Suit
This one’s without a doubt one of the most emblematic outfits for this tour, from the very beginning of it in 2018. Suga’s red suit for “Seesaw” is one for the books, and it got a reinvention for the extension of the tour. Encrusted rhinestones all over the blazer that sports a looser fit and silkier fabric — this is for sure an outfit we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.
V’s Layers on Layers on Layers
One of the most multifaceted members had to also wear a multifaceted outfit. V’s dark green printed suit for his solo serves as three different outfits: a robe at the beginning when he’s in bed for a sleepy-dreamy look, a matching set once he takes off the robe for the dancing part of his stage, and finally his outfit to join the other members for “Fake Love” when he gets rid of the jacket.
All-In Dior
Could we make this list and not mention *THE* most fashion moment of this tour? The collaboration between BTS and Dior finally saw the light of day for their “Mic Drop” stages, and it’s all we dreamed about and more. Somewhat inspired by the “bulletproof boy scouts” concept but with a more sophisticated and modern turn, these are the outfits the whole world and their moms are talking about.
Fake Love Vibes
Silk, lace, leather, see-through fabrics… these outfits bring out one of BTS’s more sensual sides. Featuring simple lines with a focus on lightweight fabrics that move along with their choreo, this is a fashion moment worthy of an award.
All Pink
With pink being their new era’s main color, it was expected we’d see lots of blush palettes during this tour, and oh-boy we did. Right after Jungkook steps down from his flying platform, the rest of the members join him wearing all-pink outfits for their “Best Of Me” stage. Rhinestones, embroidery, lightweight textured shirts, and pearls all over the place mark one of the most beautiful moments during the show.
So hard to choose just some of the outfits as all their outfits are absolutely dreamy, right Soompiers? Which is your ultimate fashion moment from this tour? Let us know in the comments!
