Amy Apologizes After Misunderstandings Led To Controversy Surrounding Wheesung

Amy has spoken about the misunderstandings that led to a recent controversy.

On May 22, Amy spoke to the news outlet EDaily. She said, “In the past, I was close friends with Wheesung and we went to the same hospital together. I knew that he’d received a prescription for drugs, and I misunderstood.” She continued, “It was cleared up later, but Wheesung had received the prescription for medical treatment, and this was confirmed during the prosecution’s investigation.”

On April 16, Amy wrote on her Instagram that a male celebrity had taken propofol with her in the past. She wrote that after he found out she was being investigated by the police, she heard that he had told someone he might blackmail her by taking sexual videos of her. She also claimed that he had called her regularly to plead with her to take the fall for him.

After rumors spread that this celebrity was Wheesung, his representatives denied it. They explained that Wheesung had been cleared of charges of injecting propofol in 2013 during his military service, as the police’s investigation had shown it was for medical purposes. Wheesung later posted a recording of a conversation with Amy (after she had called him first) in which they talked about how she had misunderstood.

In regards to her comments about sexual assault, Amy told EDaily, “Just as with the other parts such as drug use, it was a situation where I couldn’t help but misunderstand Wheesung.” She continued, “On the day when I was investigated by the police, a mutual friend of myself and Wheesung at the time came to my home and told me that story when I was in that intimidating situation. It was something that I was bound to misunderstand, and I didn’t have the time to think differently.”

“I found out afterwards that Wheesung didn’t know anything at all about this either and he wasn’t related to it at all,” she said. “The misunderstandings piled up and much time passed, and I think that my fear ended up reaching a point where I was no longer able to suppress it.”

Amy said that she found out that it had been a misunderstanding when she spoke to Wheesung after she had posted on Instagram. She said, “I feel even more sorry to Wheesung, who told me in our conversation that I was also a victim and was understanding as a friend.” She apologized and shared that she will try to put this behind her and reflect on herself.
