Super Junior's Kyuhyun Reveals Why The Hardest Part Of His Military Training Was Showering

On the latest episode of “Ask Us Anything,” Super Junior’s Kyuhyun talked about an unexpected difficulty he faced in the military!

After being discharged from the military earlier this month, Kyuhyun appeared as a guest on the May 25 broadcast of the JTBC variety show.

At one point during the episode, cast member Min Kyung Hoon asked the singer, “What was the hardest part of your time at military training camp?” Kyuhyun replied, “Actually, going through training and living together with all [the other recruits] wasn’t hard at all. But when you shower at [the training center], you all shower together. About 100 to 200 people will hit the showers at the same time.”

He went on, “When I showered together with the guys in my unit, they would leave a spot in the corner empty for me. It seemed like they were doing it out of consideration for me. So I would gratefully wash up in the corner.”

“However,” said Kyuhyun, “there were occasionally times when other people were already there showering when we arrived. So since there wasn’t any space in the corners, I’d just wash up in the middle. And honestly, it was just us guys, so it was no big deal.”

He continued, “Then I’d hear the sound [of people talking] all the way from the entrance: ‘Hey, I heard Kyuhyun’s here.’ ‘Let’s go see Kyuhyun.’ I’d hear them talking from the moment they came in. Then about twenty or thirty people would keep walking back and forth past me, [sneaking glances] while pretending not to look.”

As the cast members expressed their sympathy at his plight, Kyuhyun added, “I thought that I was the only one who had gone through that suffering, but I learned that countless other celebrities have experienced the same thing. One person told me that he didn’t shower for three days [because of it].”
