Bang Shi Hyuk Makes Billboard's List Of International Power Players For 2nd Year In A Row
CEO and executive producer of Big Hit Entertainment Bang Shi Hyuk has made the Billboard list of “International Power Players” for the second consecutive year!
On May 28 local time, Billboard released their list of 104 International Power Players, with Bang Shi Hyuk being introduced under the “recording” sector.
Billboard’s “International Power Players” list began in 2014 and annually highlights the leaders and executives of every sector in music who drive the industry’s success outside of the United States. Alongside Bang Shi Hyuk, executives such as Live Nation Europe’s president of concerts John Reid and CEO of Warner Music Group Stu Bergen were featured.
Billboard described Bang Shi Hyuk as the mastermind behind BTS’s journey to No. 1 on both the Billboard Artist 100 and Billboard 200 charts, as well as the sold-out Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium tour.
However, Bang Shi Hyuk shared through Billboard magazine that the most memorable moment of last year was BTS’s historic speech at the 73rd UN General Assembly on September 24. He said, “BTS worked very hard to deliver their message, put together in their own words. It was a symbolic moment where the artist’s life itself was a performance, a message of hope to the youth all around the world.”
Bang Shi Hyuk was also previously recognized on Billboard’s “New Power Generation: 25 Top Innovators” list in February.
Congratulations to Bang Shi Hyuk!
