Super Junior's Kangin To Make Return To Industry With Upcoming Web Drama
Super Junior’s Kangin will be making his return to the industry.
On May 29, the upcoming web drama “What Happened to Mirae?” (tentative title) released its first teaser video, featuring Super Junior’s Kangin. The web drama will tell the story of a college student named Han Mi Rae (Han Yi Soo) who meets a guy named Dong Joon (Kangin) on the last day of her trip to Japan.
Regarding the member’s appearance in the web drama, a source from Kangin’s agency clarified, “The production team [of the drama] made a casting offer and [Kangin] decided to star in the drama. There are no other official activities or follow-up projects planned [for Kangin].”
“What Happened to Mirae?” will premiere on May 31 via YouTube, with which Kangin will make his first return to the industry in three years. The member took time off to self-reflect following his DUI case in May 2016.
The source also shared an update on Super Junior’s group comeback by saying, “Super Junior is aiming to release a new album in the second half of this year. We have yet to confirm the exact [comeback] date nor the number of [participating] members.”
