The Chainsmokers On Collabs With BTS And MONSTA X + Hoping To Work With BLACKPINK
The Chainsmokers has expressed their affection for Korean fans and K-pop groups ahead of their upcoming concert in Korea.
The American EDM duo will be hosting a concert in Korea on September 6 as part of their “World War Joy” world tour. On May 30, Alex Pall stated through concert promoting company Live Nation Korea, “Korean fans have a level of energy that we’ve never felt before. Korea is also like a second home to me. We are currently preparing a show that no one has ever seen before.”
The Chainsmokers visited Korea for the first time in 2015 as part of Global Gathering Korea 2015. The duo hosted their first solo concert in Korea in 2017, during which BTS made a surprise appearance. The two groups became acquaintances after meeting at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. Andrew Taggart also partook in producing one of the b-side tracks “Best Of Me” for BTS’s mini album “Love Yourself: Her.”
Alex Pall shared his thoughts about BTS, “They are really passionate and capable people. They know how to enjoy music and concerts. I respect that they have achieved such great success and would like to continue to cheer them on.”
BTS is not the only K-pop group that The Chainsmokers has collaborated with. During their 2018 Boston Jingle Ball performance, they were joined by MONSTA X for an unexpected collaboration. Regarding the performance, Alex Pall stated, “We want to collaborate with MONSTA X more in the future.”
The Chainsmokers also expressed their wishes to work together with BLACKPINK. Alex Pall stated, “We would like to collaborate with BLACKPINK. We think [BLACKPINK] is such a talented and energetic group.” He added that if they were to collaborate with BLACKPINK, they would be able to come up with a track alike their hit song “Don’t Let Me Down.”
