Bang Shi Hyuk And Lee Soo Man Make Variety's International Music Leaders Of 2019 List

Bang Shi Hyuk and Lee Soo Man were once again named on Variety’s annual International Music Leaders list!

Titled “International Music Impact Report” this year, Variety magazine shared, “When we least expect it, along comes a ‘Gangnam Style’ or ‘Despacito’ or BTS to make us realize just how much we don’t know, and how much great music is being made off of our radar and yet at the same time, thanks to streaming, right under our noses. Who’s next? What’s next? Not knowing and then finding out is part of the thrill that inspires us — and all of the international-facing executives profiled here — to do what we do every day.”

Variety described Bang Shi Hyuk as the CEO and executive producer to BTS, listing the group’s many accomplishments this past year as well as mentioning Big Hit Entertainment’s newest group TXT. This is his second year on the list.

The magazine detailed Lee Soo Man’s accomplishments through the success of groups such as EXO, NCT 127, Red Velvet, Lay, and WayV. This marks his third year on the list.

Other executives listed in the list include Executive VP of Universal Music Group’s Market Development Adam Granite, Chairman and CEO of Sony Music U.K. and Ireland Jason Iley, CEO of Tencent Music Entertainment Cussion Kar Shun Pang, President of Warner Music Group Asia Simon Robson, and more.
