Watch: Nam Tae Hyun Blows Audience Away With Passionate Cover Of Elton John's "Rocket Man" On "Immortal Songs"

Nam Tae Hyun put his own spin on Elton John’s classic hit “Rocket Man” on “Immortal Songs”!

The June 1 episode of the KBS 2TV singing competition featured songs by Elton John, and for his performance, Nam Tae Hyun covered “Rocket Man”—the 1972 hit from which the new Elton John biopic “Rocketman” gets its name.

Before going on stage, Nam Tae Hyun shared that he had been inspired by the song as an artist, commenting, “The song is very mysterious. It made me realize, ‘Ah, you can write metaphorical lyrics in this kind of way.’ It’s such a great song. It inspired me.”

He also remarked, “I think Elton John has a cute look. He almost resembles an idol, and he has the vibe of a mischievous child. He even wears wings on stage, and to me, there’s something about him that reminds me of childhood.”

Nam Tae Hyun then went on to impress the audience with his rendition of the iconic singer’s classic song.
