Kim Nam Joo Clears Up Rumors Of Discord With Husband Kim Seung Woo

Kim Nam Joo clarified recent rumors of discord between her and Kim Seung Woo.

On June 7, it was reported that the couple had gotten into an argument that led to Kim Nam Joo’s “disappearance.”

According to one media outlet, Kim Seung Woo filed a missing person’s report on May 30 because he couldn’t get in touch with Kim Nam Joo. However, the police were able to verify that Kim Nam Joo was at a hotel in Seoul. The media outlet claimed that Kim Seung Woo had filed the report because he couldn’t get in touch with Kim Nam Joo after the couple had had an argument.

However, Kim Nam Joo cleared up these rumors in a phone interview with News1. She said brightly, “We have no problems. The issue is that we have such a great relationship.”

The actress explained, “My friends and I met up at the hotel to celebrate something that had happened to one of my longtime friends, a makeup artist. I didn’t know that my cell phone was out of battery. But my husband came home after drinking that day, and he couldn’t get in touch with me, so he made [a report].”

She continued, “I also told my husband, ‘Why did you overdo it?’ When you get drunk, you can leap to conclusions easily. It’s not a big deal, but since we’re celebrities, I think the news got around. It was no big deal.”

Kim Nam Joo also talked about the rumored discord between the couple, saying, “Since we are well-known, there may be talk about us, but we live without any problems. [Kim Seung-woo] takes care of me so much that I can’t go anywhere. It’s not really a big deal, but I think it’s causing concern. It’s no big deal, so you don’t have to worry.”

Furthermore, a source from her agency explained, “Choi Soo Kyung, known on YouTube as the ‘Witch of Cheongdam-dong,’ invited Kim Nam Joo to a congratulatory event, which I also later attended. Kim Seung Woo came home after drinking, but Kim Nam Joo was not home, and her cell phone was out of battery, so he couldn’t get in touch with her. That’s why he filed a missing person’s report.”

The source continued, “The three of us were surprised when the police came to see us. They said they needed confirmation from her, and Kim Nam Joo laughed and said, ‘I’m okay.’ I think it happened because Kim Seung Woo loves Kim Nam Joo so much.”

The two actors got married in 2005 and are the parents of one son and one daughter.
