Jo In Sung In Talks To Star In New Film By "Veteran" + "The Battleship Island" Director
Jo In Sung may soon be starring in a new film!
On June 10, Jo In Sung’s agency IOK Company confirmed that the actor was considering taking on a role in director Ryu Seung Wan’s upcoming film “Escape” (literal translation). A representative of the agency told news outlet TV Report, “[Jo In Sung] is currently in talks to appear in the film ‘Escape,’ with a favorable outlook.”
“Escape” is a new movie based on the life-and-death escape of North Korean and South Korean embassy workers stranded in the midst of the Somali Civil War. The film will be helmed by Ryu Seung Wan, the director behind the hit films “The Battleship Island,” “Veteran,” The Berlin File,” and “The Unjust.”
Should Jo In Sung appear in the film, it will mark his very first time working with the director. The actor most recently starred in the historical action blockbuster “The Great Battle,” in which he played the role of General Yang Man Chun.
According to a report by media outlet Star News, actor Kim Yun Seok may also be appearing in the upcoming film.
“Escape” is currently scheduled to begin filming in Morocco in the second half of 2019.
