Busan Welcomes BTS And ARMY For Fan Meetings By Lighting Up Landmarks In Purple
With BTS’s fifth Muster fan meetings coming up, the city of Busan is welcoming the group and their fans ARMY!
BTS will be holding fan meetings on June 15 and 16 in Busan, the second largest city in South Korea — and the hometown of members Jimin and Jungkook. To celebrate, the city is lighting up seven landmarks in purple!
The color purple is symbolic for the group and their fans, after member V defined the color as meaning “to trust and love for a long time.” BTS and ARMY often express their feelings by saying to each other, “I purple you.”
At a meeting on June 10 about BTS’s fan meeting, officials from the city of Busan decided to light up the landmarks in purple to welcome BTS and ARMY. The landmarks that will be shining in purple from June 11 to 16 are Gwangan Bridge, Busan Cinema Center, Busan Harbor Bridge, two transmission towers on Hwangnyeongsan Mountain, Hwamyeong Bridge, and Busan Tower.
