Kim Kyung Nam Confirmed To Join Writer Kim Eun Sook’s New Drama With Lee Min Ho, Woo Do Hwan, And Kim Go Eun
Kim Kyung Nam will be appearing in writer Kim Eun Sook’s upcoming drama “The King: The Eternal Monarch” (literal title).
On June 17, the actor’s agency JR ENT revealed, “Kim Kyung Nam has confirmed his appearance in ‘The King.'”
“The King: The Eternal Monarch” is a fantasy romance drama about two parallel universes—one resembling modern-day Korea and the other where Korea is under a monarchy. It will tell the story of Emperor Lee Gon (played by Lee Min Ho) and Detective Jung Tae Eul (played by Kim Go Eun) who work together between the two universes to protect life, people, and love.
The drama is written by Kim Eun Sook, who has penned hits such as “Heirs,” “Descendants of the Sun,” “Goblin,” and “Mr. Sunshine.”
Kim Kyung Nam will portray Kang Shin Jae, a man who has lived as anyone other than himself since his father was arrested for embezzlement while running a small business. He suffers from ongoing nightmares which led him to become a detective. Along with his handsome face, cold personality, and tenaciousness, he exhibits important skills that help to solve cases which has helped his team achieve a high detection rate. Through his line of work, Kang Shin Jae forms a close relationship with Detective Jung Tae Eul. To Kang Shin Jae who only has nightmares, Jung Tae Eul becomes someone who he wants to dream about every night.
The drama will begin filming in the second half of this year and will air sometime in the first half of 2020. The network and details of the broadcast are undecided at this time.
Kim Kyung Nam recently has appeared in many popular dramas including “Come and Hug Me,” “Where Stars Land,” and most recently “Special Labor Inspector, Mr. Jo.”
