Kang Daniel's Agency Meets With Music Distributor In Preparation For Solo Debut

Kang Daniel’s agency met with music distributor Kakao M ahead of his highly-anticipated debut!

On June 20, Ilgan Sports reported that Kang Daniel’s agency held a music distribution meeting with Kakao M. The fact that a distribution meeting took place indicates that the album is nearly finished or at least half complete. A source from the industry explained, “[The company] decides the approximate release date for the album and song, and they then conduct a meeting with the distributors. Meeting with the distributors means that the album production process is complete or nearly complete.”

Soon after the report about the meeting, a source from Kang Daniel’s one-man agency KONNECT Entertainment confirmed, “It’s true that Kang Daniel is meeting with an music distributor.”

Ilgan Sports further reported that “Seol” had been present during the music distribution meeting with Kakao M. An industry source stated, “As far as I know, [‘Seol’] was looking for a music distributor for Kang Daniel and had a meeting with Kakao M last week. A positive conversation took place [during the meeting].”

“Seol” is an agent in Hong Kong who works with contracting hallyu stars for business like advertisements, events, and performances. She was listed as the legal representative for the initial certification of contents sent for the termination of Kang Daniel’s contract.

In response to the report, KONNECT quickly clarified, “‘Seol’ has nothing to do with the company,” and a source from Kakao M also stated, “It’s difficult to reveal the contents of the contract. We ask for your understanding.”

Last month, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in Kang Daniel’s favor in his contract dispute with LM Entertainment, allowing him to pursue independent activities without any interference from his former agency. However, LM Entertainment appealed the court’s decision, and on June 10, Kang Daniel established his agency KONNECT Entertainment.

Although reports surfaced that Kang Daniel would be making his solo debut sometime in July, Kang Daniel’s agency denied these reports. On June 9, Kang Daniel returned to Instagram for a live broadcast for the first time in five months and updated fans on plans for his highly-anticipated solo debut.
