Ahn Ye Eun Denies Accusations Of School Violence + To Take Legal Action
Last month, singer Ahn Ye Eun was caught up in rumors suggesting that she was a school bully. She has since sued the original commenter.
On June 21, Ahn Ye Eun’s agency, Pandawhale Company, released an official statement that said:
The current situation is that someone falsely shared on Twitter that Ahn Ye Eun was a violent bully during her school days and that they were a victim of Ahn Ye Eun’s bullying. After discussing the details with the original poster, it has been confirmed that there is no truth to any of this. What they originally posted is not true. Believing that they would stop spreading rumors, Ahn Ye Eun warned the original commenter, but they did not comply. Therefore, on May 28, we officially reported them to the police for defamation by false rumors, and have completed the first round of investigations. Through these investigations, we know that the truth will be revealed. We hope to wrap up this issue as quickly as possible and will work as hard as we can for the safety of Ahn Ye Eun.
Ahn Ye Eun also took to social media to personally address the matter. She stated, “Since I have also been bullied, I understand the saying, ‘The bully never remembers,’ better than anyone else. I contacted all of the classmates I could reach, and they all said they had never heard of these rumors. I don’t think the original poster brought this up in order to gain anything. The victim always has the best memory of the situation, and theirs is the story that everyone must believe, especially if there were many witnesses. However, after I have investigated this all day, I can confirm that the truth is different from their story, and therefore I apologize that I have nothing else to say.”
